I’m a long time VSCO user, but recently shifted my iOS photography workflow to Darkroom. What drew me to Darkroom is the deep integration with iCloud Photo Library. Unlike VSCO, Darkroom uses your iCloud Photo Library instead of maintaining its own. Edits live in Darkroom or can be applied to the original photo in your iCloud library while preserving the ability to convert back to the original.
Yesterday, the team at Darkroom released Darkroom 4. The update includes support for iPad, a suite of improvements to the editing tools and user interface, and a shiny new app icon. I’ll be digging into the iPad version over the coming weeks, but my early impressions of the iOS changes are positive and the new app icon is a pleasant upgrade on my home screen.
